Russian born concert pianist and distinguished piano teacher Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich brings to New Music School piano faculty a vast wealth of teaching and performing experience which enables her to successfully introduce young performers of any level and age to the beautiful world of music. Dr. Lipmanovich believes it is her role as educator to facilitate and motivate each student in finding a successful and fluid piano technique, exploring their individual creative abilities and performance skills while also developing the fundamental understanding and mastery of each composition learned and performed. Many of Dr. Lipmanovich's students have become outstanding performers and teachers, and have been accepted into such prestigious music programs as the Julliard School of Music, the Paris Conservatory of Music, and the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Dr. Lipmanovich feels that her piano training with some of the world's greatest pedagogues (including Tatiana Nickolayeva, Rosina Lhevinne, Ian Hobson, Anthony di Bonaventura and Mary Sauer) has given her a sound technical and musical foundation, which she imparts to each student. Her teaching methods guide each student through a methodical and successful path in the musical learning process from developing musical and technical skills while providing her pupils with the important tools needed to develop focus in personal practice time and performance. Dr. Lipmanovich believes that music nourishes the soul, and that the concepts necessary in learning to play the piano well is easy for any student when a sound approach to playing the instrument is implemented at the earliest learning stages..She has taught on the piano faculties of the Boston Conservatory, Boston College, Northeastern University , and the Rubin Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem. During 2007-2009 Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich was Artistic Program Director for the concert events at Macy’s on 111 N. State Street.
As a concert pianist Dr. Lipmanovich has appeared in major concert halls as soloist and with orchestras and chamber groups throughout Russia, Israel, Europe, and in such prestigious venues in the United States such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, Steinway Hall. She has won several International Competitions including among them the Piano Competition of the Soviet Composers held in Moscow , and the Tenth Annual Young Artists International Competition in New York. She was recognized as an outstanding young performer and named in the National Collegiate Academy Honorary Book as “Collegiate All-American Scholar”. She gave numerous performances in Israel as a soloist, with chamber music groups, and with orchestras. She was a member of the “Trio Bor”, where the violinist and cellist were members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist on some outstanding events among them performance where 30 Foreign Ambassadors were present. Dr. Lipmanovich is invited to have a concert tour in Russia in Spring 2012 were she will be performing Chopin Piano concerto No. 1 with Kirov Philharmonic Orchestra and Chief Conductor Valery Raevsky. She just recently she has performed several concerts here in Chicago among them are:Solo Recital at the Gala event of the Fine Arts Building held at Curtis Hall in Chicago IL and. In a program were selected compositions of Khachaturian,Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Lyadov, Rubinstein, Scriabin, Chopin; Solo recital of All Chopin Program at the Fine Arts Building Recording Studio 914 in Chicago with Live Broadcast on Television. Both events were Live streaming/broadcasting all over the world including the 765,000,000 internet users throughout She gave Solo Recitals of All Chopin Program at the Fourth Presbyterian Church on Michigan/Chestnut, Chicago IL and performance at Schubertiade at the Fazioli concert event on 01/29/2011 Performing All Schubert Program.
Dr. Lipmanovich holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Juilliard School of Music in New York, where she studied with Madame Rosina Lhevinne on a full scholarship. She received a Masters Degree from the Rubin Academy of Music of the Tel Aviv University, where she studied with Prof. Arie Vardi on a full scholarship awarded by the University. Dr. Lipmanovich studied with Ian Hobson on a full scholarship at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and was awarded her Doctorate in Piano Performance in 1998.
