We are thrilled to officially kick off the Fall 2026 Semester! The semester began on Sunday, August 23, and will continue through Saturday, December 19.
As the new semester gets underway, we want to highlight several required program commitments, performances, and events so that families can plan ahead and keep these important dates on their calendars throughout the semester. Theory Instruction Begins September 13Online:
Mondays & Wednesdays: 4:00–7:00 PM
Saturdays: 10:00AM–1:00PM and 2:00PM–5:00PM
Sundays: 10:00AM-1:00PM and 2:00PM-5:00PM In Person:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 4:00–7:00 PM
Saturdays: 9:30 AM–4:00 PM Theory instruction, both online and in person, officially begins Sunday, September 13. As a reminder, one 20–30 minute theory instruction session per week is required for all NMS students ages 6 and up. Monthly Studio ClassesSchedule: Varies by teacher Monthly Studio Classes are scheduled by each private teacher and are visible on the NMS Calendar. Please check directly with your private teacher for the complete schedule of Studio Classes for the academic year. Departmental Recitals — November 1511:00 AM–5:00 PM The Departmental Recitals are a required performance for all NMS 18 & Under students. Repertoire and performance details will be shared by private teachers. Specific recital times will be confirmed in early October. String, Voice, & Woodwind Recitals are at 11:00 AM & 12:00 PM. Piano Recitals are at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 & 5:00 PM. Fall Juries — December 5 & 6December 5: Voice from 1:00-3:00 PM & Strings 3:00-7:00 PM
December 6: Flute 10:00-11:00 AM & Piano 11:00 AM-7:00 PM Participation in semester juries is required for all NMS 18 & Under students. Repertoire and required materials will be communicated by private teachers. Specific jury times will be confirmed in early October.
