Arvin-Ur Gantumur is a Mongolian pianist whose musical journey has taken her from Mongolia and South Korea to the United States, where she has developed an active career as both a soloist and collaborative pianist. With a strong foundation in classical repertoire, she has appeared in solo recitals, chamber music concerts, concerto performances, and digital releases, building a growing international presence both on stage and online.
Arvin earned her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts studying with Dr. Winston Choi and Dr. Junghwa Moon Auer, and served as a Collaborative Graduate Assistant, working regularly with instrumentalists and vocalists. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (BCCM) at California State University, Long Beach. Before completing high school at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) in the United States, she studied at the Mongolian Conservatory of Music in Mongolia and Gyeonggi Arts High School in South Korea.
Throughout her career, Arvin has earned top honors in international competitions, including Second Prize at the Naidal International Piano Competition (Ulaan-Ude, Russia), First Prize at the Milosz Magin 13th Annual Piano Competition (Paris, France), and First Prize at the Gyeonggi-do Piano Competition (Seoul, Korea). She also received recognition at the Sonatina/Sonata Festival in Los Angeles and has consistently distinguished herself in national competitions.
As a concerto soloist, Arvin first won the concerto competition at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), performing the third movement of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the LACHSA Symphony Orchestra under Alan Mautner. Building on this achievement, during her freshman year at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, she was selected as the winning soloist for the Music and Dance Department’s collaborative Fusion Concert (2018), a large-scale production uniting both departments. She performed the first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 under the direction of Andrew Vaca. After earning First Prize in the BCCM Instrumental Concerto Competition in 2020, she made her debut on the concerto stage in 2021 as featured soloist in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, performing the complete work with the BCCM Symphony Orchestra under Jacob Sustaita.
In addition to her individual career, since 2023 Arvin has toured and performed across the United States with her musician three sisters and with her pianist mother as Classical Sisters, presenting programs that feature Mongolian solo works, chamber music, and classical repertoire. Through these performances, they share their cultural heritage while bringing both Mongolian and Western classical traditions to a wide range of audiences.
Beyond the concert stage, Arvin maintains an active and growing online presence. Her recordings are available on Spotify, and she curates a substantial collection of performance videos on her YouTube channel, where her work has reached a wide audience and continues to gain strong viewers.
Admired by professors and colleagues for her musicianship, professionalism, and dedication, Arvin-Ur continues to build a well-rounded career as a performer, collaborator, arranger, and educator, connecting audiences through music across cultures.
