Daniel Razminia recently completed his sophomore year at Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Illinois, and aspires to become a concert pianist. He began his classical piano studies in 2022 with Jeffrey Panko at New Music School in Chicago and currently studies with Jeffrey Panko and Mary Sauer, Principal Keyboardist Emeritus of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also participated in masterclasses with Stephen Osborne, Alan Chow, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi.
Daniel has performed the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 and the first two movements of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 under the direction of Conner Gray Covington. He also attended the Todi International Music Masters Festival in Italy, where he performed in both solo recitals and with orchestra under the baton of Francesco D'Ovidio. In addition, he presented a debut recital as part of the Friends of the Windows Concert Series at Quigley Chapel in Chicago.
This summer, Daniel is participating in the Colburn Tonebase Piano Seminar, the Jacobs School of Music Summer Piano Academy, and the Philadelphia International Piano Festival.
Daniel has earned top prizes in numerous competitions, including CAMTA, American Protégé, and SBC, and has performed at Carnegie Hall. Most recently, he received an Honorable Mention at the Elmhurst Stanger Competition. In August, he will compete as one of just 12 finalists in the Intermediate Division of the Toronto International Piano Competition, selected from an international field of applicants.
Outside of music, Daniel is actively involved in robotics and enjoys playing tennis.
