Stefani Haas

NMS Piano Faculty


Stefani Haas, a native of Serbia, began studying and playing the piano at 8 years old with Nera Skeledzija, and later with Olga Borzenko. Her accomplishments include solo, chamber, special prizes and laureates in local and international competitions in Europe as well as performances at the World Piano Conferences. She is an active soloist and chamber music performer in various venues in Chicago. Stefani has participated in Master Classes with Ursula Opens, Roger Chase, Paul Neubauer, Martin Katz, Enrico Elisi, Paul Barnes, Yuri Kot and Vladimir Ogarkov, etc. 

Stefani is also an avid interpreter of contemporary music, premiering many original works and works being dedicated to her by emerging Chicago-based composers. She frequently performs with her husband and recital partner, violist, Nikita Haas. In October 2012 Stefani was chosen among six soloists from CCPA in competition to perform throughout the region and at the Fall 2012 Piano Showcase Recital was recorded for future broadcast on WFMT Chicago's classical music station (98.7 FM) Stefani Haas has been selected as a 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Ludmila Lazar Scholarship recipient during her studies at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. She received Bachelor and Master's degrees at Roosevelt University with honors under the guidance of Dr. Ludmila Lazar. Highlights of recent concerts include performances at the North Shore Chamber Music Festival in Northbrook, IL.
