New Music School brings an Instrumental Petting Zoo to the Sheffield Garden Walk July 18/19 from 12-5 PM.  Between then hours of 3-4, New Music School students will perform on center stage.  From violinists, pianists, and jazz vocalists, NMS prepares to showcase its raw talent.

New Music School is proud to be instructing, creating the curriculum, and working for the George S. May Foundation teaching students at Perez Elementary School in Pilsen.  Students under the direction of Ryan Berndt (New Music School Faculty) have been learning Orff instruments through the P.A.U.S.E. New Music School is offering a Violin/Viola Boot Camp From July 22 through August 4 with Stefan Hersh.  

The camp is designed to provide a rigorous, immersive experience to foster disciplined practice habits, increased comprehension of high-level technical concepts on the violin/viola and enhanced performance capability.

New Music School continues its tour of schools to the Montessori School of Lake Forest on Thursday, May 21.  The Gaudete Brass Quintet, in residency at NMS, will perform for the entire student body on Thursday and then stick around for a Q&A with students and families starting at 215 on Thursday afternoon.  NMS will be presenting the first of three instrumental petting zoos with string instruments for kids to try!!

New Music School presents to Lincoln Park High School's music programs today.  The Gaudete Brass Quintet, in residency at NMS, will perform for all students. 

After their stunning performances at Lincoln Park High School, The Gaudete Brass Quintet, in residency at NMS, generates a lot of buzz for NMS performing to over 500 students.  The Quintet posted on NMS's facebook page a thanks to the students and to "keep practicing."

Montessori School of Lake Forest and New Music School unite to bring a fresh new music program to the school this summer and continuing indefinitely in the Fall 2009.  For families interested in learning more about this exciting collaboration, please contact NMS at 312.612.1969.

New Music School brings Macy's a Day of Music from 11AM - 5 PM at Macy's Downtown State Street location.  New Music School students, faculty, and advisors will be performing music from all time periods, including show stoppers from Annie and Wicked.  Stop by the atrium at Macy's to hear wonderful performances, including a stunning performance of Schubert's four hand piano piece with Mary Sauer, principal pianist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  NMS looks forward to seeing all of you.
